Terms of Service

1. Agreement
By using Funance, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
"Funance" refers to the website, dashboard, and related services operated by Troy Popovic ("we", "us", "our"). "You" refers to the person or entity using Funance.
2. The service
Funance is a personal finance dashboard that lets you track income, expenses, debts, assets, savings goals, subscriptions, and related financial information. We provide tools for analysis, projection, and visualisation of data that you enter yourself.
What Funance is NOT
- Not a financial adviser. Information shown in Funance is for your personal use only. It is not financial advice. Decisions about your money are yours alone. If you need professional advice, consult a licensed financial planner.
- Not a bank or accounting platform. We do not connect to bank accounts or process transactions on your behalf.
- Not a tax preparation service. Tax estimates shown are approximations using publicly available ATO brackets. Always check with the ATO or a tax agent before lodging.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Funance.
- You're responsible for keeping your email account secure (since we use magic-link authentication, anyone with access to your inbox can sign in).
- You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- One account per person. Sharing accounts is not permitted.
- You must give us accurate contact information (email).
- If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Funance to:
- Break the law (yours, ours, or anyone else's)
- Try to access other users' accounts or data
- Probe, scan, or test the security of our systems without permission
- Reverse engineer the dashboard, scrape it at scale, or build a competing service from it
- Send spam, malware, or harassing content through any feature we provide
- Resell access to Funance without our written permission
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Pricing and payment
Free tier
Funance offers a 14-day free trial of Pro features. No credit card required to start. After trial expiry, your account reverts to the Free tier (local dashboard only, no cloud sync).
Paid plans
- Pro Monthly ($9.90 AUD/month) — recurring monthly subscription, billed when your trial ends. Cancel any time.
- Pro Annual ($79 AUD/year) — recurring annual subscription, billed when your trial ends. Cancel any time. Save 27% compared to monthly.
All prices are in Australian dollars. GST is included in the price displayed for Australian customers. Subscription pricing is current as of the date of these Terms; we'll give you 30 days' notice before any price changes.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time via the Customer Portal in your account settings. After cancellation:
- You retain access until the end of the current billing period
- Your data remains accessible (read-only) for 30 days after access ends
- After 30 days, your account reverts to the Free tier — cloud sync stops, but your data is not deleted
- You can reactivate at any time
- If you want all your data permanently removed, use the "Delete account" option separately

6. Your data
- You own your data. We don't claim any rights over the financial information you enter.
- You can export your data at any time (JSON or PDF format).
- We won't share your data with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. Garbage in, garbage out.
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee Funance will be available 100% of the time. We may need to:
- Take the service offline for maintenance (we'll try to do this during off-peak hours)
- Temporarily suspend features to address security or stability issues
- Modify or discontinue features (we'll give notice for material changes)
If Funance is unavailable for more than 7 consecutive days due to our fault, paying customers can request a pro-rated refund for that month.
8. Limitation of liability
Australian Consumer Law gives you certain non-excludable rights. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of Funance is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) AUD $50.
We are not liable for financial decisions you make based on information shown in Funance. If you make a poor investment, miss a bill, or owe more tax than expected because of something you saw in the dashboard, that's on you. We're a tool, not a counsellor.
9. Termination
You can close your account at any time via the dashboard.
We may suspend or close your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your payment fails and isn't resolved within 14 days
- We're required to by law
If we close your account for any reason other than your breach of these Terms, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and the opportunity to export your data.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Victoria.
